I'm willing to bring in any of my consoles; Wii, Game Cube, PS3, or N64.
"School Appropriate" games for each system are listed below: Wii - Smash Bros Brawl, Mario Kart Wii
Game Cube - Smash Bros Melee, Mario Kart Double Dash, Metroid Prime 2
PS3 - (None as of right now, but if we find one that's school appropriate and tournament material, we could always buy one.)
N64 - Smash Bros. 64, Mario Kart 64, Pokemon Stadium 1/2 (However, I doubt we'd get many people for Pokemon, so we might as well throw that out of the picture.)
But, why just limit the tournaments to multiplayer games? We could always do random events such as "See who could make it the furthest on the original Super Mario Bros, using no Warp Zones."
We should think outside the box a little, we might be able to come up with some fun video game tournaments.
aside from already listed games, I know LittleBigPlanet for PS3 has some great multiplayer, but I'm not sure how to make a tournament out of it. also, Legend of Zelda: Four Swords Adventures for GCN has some nice competitive multiplayer. New Super Mario Bros. Wii is supposed to have about the same kind of gameplay, so we could consider that too when it comes out.
had other ideas but i can't think of any of them right now.
what i was thinking of was that we could record from the screen rather than placing a video camera in front of the screen, we could do this by geting some AV cables (cables with yellow red and white connectors) that could connect to the video out of the projecter, (or any screen that has video out) and have it go into the device that is being used to record. if the device has no built in mic, i propose that we should get a USB mic or desktop mic so we can record our voices if we wanted to
